vholdr helmet camera Need help with codecs and video formats h.264/.MOV?
I am considering buying a helmet camera that "supports H.264/MOV" Formats (Helmet Cam VholdR is ContourHD), and experience tells me, on this box to see if I can edit the movies in my video-editing program. I use Sony has Vegas9 native AVC / Quicktime support includes. As far as I know = AVC H.264 and MOV = Quicktime, so my guess is that I am not covered converts video to use it on my computer. Is that correct? Thanks for any help, I am new to the whole vid editing and codec is rather confusing.
You're right - you need not convert. H.264 is a highly compressed format, however, and it needs lots of processing power to edit it. They also affect the video the more do with it. You can better results converting to a lossless format such as Huffyuv, edit, and then receive the code to whatever your preferred Format.
