Bicycle Safety
The National Traffic Safety Institute (ntsi), we worry about the safety of our students on and off the road. For the purposes of promoting a safe environment, we publish a series of tips to help you remain free of Harm's Way. We hope that you timely and informative of these To benefit functions.
Bicycle Safety
BIKING can be dangerous! REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ONLY with the bike, BUT THEY ACTUALLY operation JUST LIKE a vehicle drivers to be. Always follow the traffic signals and ROAD!
Follow these rules as a safe cycling:
- Always ride on the right side of the road. Never ride against traffic regulations. Ride on the sidewalk, if you can do safely, but always for cars that might save the alert. Remember, pedestrians and other cyclists yield.
- When driving on the street or on the sidewalk, always ride single file. If you want to drive a pedestrian or another cyclist, honking a horn or shouting "On the left side."
- Always check behind you before they go to or the roadway.
- Pay attention to items on be the street or sidewalk, that you lose control of the bicycle, which could lead to.
- Stop at all stop signs.
- Know your hand signals and make them if they are.
- Always ride with both hands on the handlebars.
- Be especially careful around parked cars. Someone might an open door into your path.
- Always be prepared to stop, so make sure that your bike, the brakes are in good condition.
- Never ride at night without proper lighting equipment. (a white headlight and a red rear taillight, reflectors on both sides of each wheel and a red reflector facing the rear). Wear light clothing and always wear a helmet.
