helmet lights led How do I get a product DOT approved?
I work for a company that is a hallmark frame with a white LED built into them to light up the Plate. I want to receive it, are DOT approved, so that I can sell it in the U.S., and laid it DOT approved. I know things like motorcycle helmet and headlight received DOT approval. I have contacted the DOT and they seem to have no idea what I have desired equipment they have sent to me all over the place.
The Department of Transportation in the U.S. and not all of the items approved for cars. For example, there will not authorize such a thing as a wheel DOT (you could equalivent for the German if ) with the purchase of wheels. Most of the time approved DOT applies to products that meet certain published Guidlines (eg brake lines - though not DOT brake lines is superior for some applications). I'm also not sure whether to go Motorcyle helmets by a DOT approval. Most helmets I am familiar and tested by the Snell Memorial Foundation acredited. For an item, as you could describe it, you check with the point to see if they are all published guidelines and / or Requirements for the secondary - lighting on cars - if there is such a thing as "DOT Approved" for this, it would be explained in these documents, what are the requirements, the product itself (although the best of my knowledge there is no list of guidelines in this area, although it can state rules and regulations regarding the installation of external LEDs).
